The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the College of Pharmacy at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) in Memphis, TN, is seeking outstanding applicants for a twelve-month full-time, non-tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor level.

Qualifications

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree. 

The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. degree in biochemistry/chemistry, at least ten years of research experience as a postdoctoral fellow or a research associate, and substantial publications (> 40) in prestigious mainstream journals. Extensive experience with rodent models of epilepsy is essential to this position. Additional research experience in primary neuron/glia culture, molecular cloning, CRISPR/Cas9-based genome editing, Lentiviral or AAV-mediated shRNA, western blot analysis, quantitative PCR, ELISA, immunochemistry, flow cytometry, and data analysis is also required. The successful candidate should be able to work independently and guide graduate students for research projects.
