Job Description
Position Responsibilities:
- Design and teach courses in the approved curriculum using teaching methods that support the success of diverse students.
- Assess student academic achievement at classroom, department, and college level.
- Participate in the department, as well as the larger college community, through a variety of activities (e.g., curriculum development, program review, service on committees, student clubs, etc.).
Required Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: ( expected to have to enter job)
- Education Requirement
- Master’s degree with a major in political science or
- Master’s degree in any discipline/field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in political science.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications: (desired but not expected to have to enter job)
- Teaching experience at the community college level.
- Expertise and experience in multiple modalities, including course design and teaching in-person, hybrid, and online asynchronous classes
- Demonstrated student centered approach to teaching and learning
- Evidence of active and experiential learning strategies
- Experience in assessment of student learning that includes a variety of summative and formative strategies
- Demonstrated success working with a student body of diverse cultures, situations, interests, and abilities
- Ph.D. in Political Science
