We are looking for a skilled and highly motivated postdoctoral researcher with expertise in Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML), and Fracture Mechanics to join our team. The candidate will develop an AI-assisted computer model to estimate fracture risk in dogs with osteosarcoma in a limb in collaboration with the researchers at the Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM).

 Job Duties:

  • To develop and perform FE simulations
  • To build an AI-assisted model to take DICOM data and export high-quality models suitable for design and simulation workflows
  • To analyze the results and data
  • To report research findings to the research group and externally
  • To lead manuscript publication
  • To directly supervise graduate and undergraduate students

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A candidate must have a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Materials Science Engineering
  • Proficient in Finite Element Analysis (FEA)- ABAQUS or LS-DYNA
  • Experienced in Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML), Fracture Mechanics, and Image Processing
  • Proficient in Simpleware software or other Image Processing /Model Generation software
  • Experienced in Python
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills necessary to deliver presentations and prepare written reports, and explain technical information

Desired:

Experience in

  • Biomechanical simulation
  • Mechanical testing
  • Advanced materials characterizations
