Summary

This is a part-time position (16 hours per week - 40%) limited to the winter term 2023.

Salary is $14,000 for the 40% effort.

Responsibilities*

Teach EECS 370 - Introduction to Computer Organization
The course covers the basic concepts of computer organization and hardware; instructions are executed by a processor and how to use these instructions in simple assembly-language programs; stored-program concept; datapath and control for multiple implementations of a processor; performance evaluation, pipelining, caches, virtual memory, input/output.   The instructor will be responsible for developing course materials, lecturing, holding office hours, preparing and grading exams, managing and grading class projects, and managing any class staff.

Required Qualifications*

Strong oral presentation and communication skills.

Ability to teach introductory courses in computer science and engineering

PhD in CS or related field, strong knowledge of computer architecture

Union Affiliation

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
