Job Description

The Zhan Lab at Stony Brook University, NY (https://medicine.stonybrookmedicine.edu/medicine/hematology/faculty/zhan-lab) is seeking a highly motivated and passionate postdoctoral fellow to perform and drive an exciting research project in myeloproliferative neoplasms. This postdoctoral position will provide unique training experience in both in vitro and in vivo assay systems to study neoplastic hematopoiesis and its contribution to cardiovascular disorders. There will be opportunities for career development training and mentorship to help the candidate progress to a career as an independent researcher.

The position requires experiences with wet-lab skills including cell culture, PCR, qPCR, western blotting, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence imaging, etc. Experience with transgenic murine models, hematopoietic stem/progenitor cell culture, and induced pluripotent stem cell culture/differentiation are highly desirable. The qualified candidate should have first author publications in molecular biology especially in areas of hematopoiesis and/or cardiovascular diseases. Effective written and verbal communication skills are required. Ph.D. and/or M.D. in biology or a related field is required.

Salary will be based on qualifications and experience.

Pay: $47,500.00 - $60,000.00 per year
