Project Manager - Strategic Planning Institu Effectiveness
Job Description
SUMMARY
Direct, manage, coordinate, and/or support multiple projects and initiatives that develop and implement business solutions for the institution. This work will focus on project initiation through closing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Deliver project management methodology, initiating, and planning, executing, monitoring, controlling and supporting implementation of key initiatives;
- Establish specific needs and project scope requirements, evaluate alternatives, prepare budget estimates and obtain concurrence of initial scope of work;
- Prepare initial project scope, budget and delivery schedule; secure service of consultants or service vendors required to complete project scope of work;
- Prepare and negotiate contracts, approve payments to vendors and ensure compliance.
- Present and review proposed solutions with department administration, client/ stakeholders, consultants/service providers to ensure project scope meets established project needs;
- Review progress to ensure compliance with project budget, delivery schedule and quality requirements are in accordance with college standards and applicable guidelines;
- Direct and manage to ensure established project scope is met, schedule is on target and project is within budgetary constraints;
- Regularly meet with stakeholders to resolve potential problems and address concerns.
- Schedule progress coordination meetings and/or disseminate project update reports to department administration, client/ stakeholders; and
- Review, suspend/reject or approve all service invoices and commodity procurements, monitor payment processing with other departments to ensure timely processing of vendor payments, verify service or commodity invoices are complete and satisfactory.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above. The qualifications listed below are representative of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
Project Management Professional Certification required.
EXPERIENCE
Three (3) years in project planning and development experience required.
Three (3) years’ experience required in a combination of any of the following: strategic planning process, SWOT analysis, qualitative/quantitative evaluation, research design/analysis, statistics, preferably in higher education.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office software applications; including project management and presentation software;
- Excellent organizational and planning skills;
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills; including tact and diplomacy;
- Ability to manage multiple projects and maintaining focus on priorities;
- Collaborate with others to reach mutually beneficial goals and objectives;
- Ability to negotiate, evaluate and administer contracts;
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships;
- Ability to work with a diverse and multicultural customer base;
- Demonstrated experience in process improvement; and
- High-level proficiency in Keynote environment.
