Job Description


A Postdoctoral Scholar position is available immediately to study virus-host interactions and viral pathogenesis. Currently, the focus of the lab is to understand innate immune responses against RNA viruses and systems genetics of coronavirus infection. We leverage viral infection models in cell culture and laboratory mice to identify molecular targets for investigation in vitro and in vivo.


Qualifications

Ph.D.

The preferred candidate is a highly self-motivated individual who should have strong background and experience in virology, molecular biology and cell biology, such as recombinant DNA techniques (cloning, mutagenesis, etc.), RT-PCR, Western blotting, immunoprecipitation, reporter gene assay, maintaining and transfecting cell cultures, virus production/purification/titration, etc., and a record of productivity. Experience with mouse models is a plus. Strong work ethic, good English communication skills and previous peer-reviewed publications in virology journals are required. Must be willing to work with mice and in Biosafety Level 3 containment and be able to pass Department of Justice background check for the Select Agent Program.
