Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno Graduate School is recruiting for an Admissions & Records Assistant 4. This position is dedicated to the admissions, progression, and onboarding needs of on-line programs at the University of Nevada, Reno.

This position will determine applicant's admissibility to graduate education by evaluating applications, transcripts, test scores, and grade point average; collect, review and prepare documents for graduate program review and recommendation; transmit documents and student files; create and maintain student records into student information system and notify applicant. The Admissions & Records Assistant 4 will ensure alignment of data in related SIS/PS table, components and systems; respond to applicant/student questions, problems and concerns regarding applications for admissions, procedures, and requirements for admissions etc.

This role will explain program determinations and may recommend solutions; coordinate degree completion procedure with office counterpart; review and evaluate student progression forms and make recommendations for exceptions to policy and memos for enrollment corrections; liaison between UNR and third party program administrator for online programs; and other duties as assigned.

 

Required Qualifications

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and four years of increasingly responsible and varied experience in multiple areas such as foreign transcript evaluation, admission of international students, data entry of new class data, preparation of the master class schedule, review of computer input and output, determination of eligibility for admission and graduation, and scheduling classroom and instructional space; OR one year of experience as an Admissions & Records Assistant III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Preferred Qualifications 

Experience in higher education admissions.

Experience with student information systems and document imaging systems.

Candidates with a Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree are encouraged to apply.

  

Schedule

The typical schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.

Compensation Grade

Grade 29 (Entry, Step 01 $19.32/hr. – Step 04 $21.84/hr.)

 

In classified service, salary is in Grade and Step. The Step is determined based on the Nevada Administrative Code. Salary placement above a Step 01 at initial appointment is determined based on the recruitment, the candidate’s qualifications, internal equity and budgets. A request to accelerate salary must be approved by Human Resources and abide by the Nevada Administrative Code.

Training and Experience Exam
