As part of Sanjay Krishna’s Infrared Detector (KIND) research group, performs research in the areas of semiconductor materials and devices for infrared detection and imaging. Leads the fabrication and characterization of semiconductor devices being investigated as potential infrared detectors or imagers. Takes a leadership role on at least one project, planning and coordinating the activities of junior researchers. Develops documentation of their research in the form of lab records, operating procedures, journal publications, and research presentations. As a part-time staff member of Nanotech West, fabricates and characterizes research materials and devices. Trains and supports researchers using Nanotech West, including student researchers.


Additional Information:

30% Operates specialized scientific equipment including growth, fabrication, and characterization of infrared materials, detectors, and arrays;

30% Assists faculty and other collaborators, or acts independently as needed, in planning and designing research experiments, establishing priorities, and recommending schedules, time tables and costs;

10 % Performs modeling, simulations, and analyses to predict engineering characteristics and interpret characterization results;

20 % Documents and shares project plans and outcomes in the forms of operating procedures, intellectual property records, research presentations, and journal publications;

10% Mentors and trains graduate assistants or undergraduate student researchers;
