Postdoctoral Associate

Job Description:

The Department of Pharmacotherapy and Translational Research is recruiting for a Postdoctoral Associate in pharmacogenomics and data science, available immediately. The research is funded and directed by Dr. Caitrin McDonough, at the University of Florida, College of Pharmacy. The Postdoc will engage in projects such as pharmacogenomic genome-wide association studies, linking electronic health record-based data with ‘omic data, constructing and using computable phenotypes to characterize subpopulations within large electronic health record and claims datasets such as the OneFlorida Data Trust, and developing clinical decision support based on successful computable phenotypes.

Expected Salary:

Salary based on NIH Postdoc Scale; Commensurate with education and experience

Minimum Requirements:

PhD in epidemiology, biostatistics, bioinformatics, biomedical informatics, human genetics, or related field. OR PharmD with relevant research experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Expertise or knowledge in computational programming and statistical data analysis.  Knowledge of SAS, R, Python, or SQL. Experience working with high performance or cluster computing environments.  Knowledge of open/public/private databases including but not limited to clinical trial and drug databases.  Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.  Have a strong interest in pharmacogenomics and/or pharmacoepidemiology.  Highly motivated to conduct scientific research, and able to work independently on team-oriented projects. Research grant writing experience is highly desired.
