POSTDOCTORIAL LEARNING DESIGNER, Comparative Media Studies/Writing-MIT Scheller Teacher Education Program (MIT-STEP), to design high school project-based learning geometry math curricula. Responsibilities include designing and developing two high school math project-based learning geometry units; maintaining a design collaborative of researchers, learning designers, educators, and students; leading and supporting studies using mixed methodology for design-based research; coordinating with partner schools and institutions; adapting and creating research instruments; and publishing articles/reports for scholarly and practitioner communities.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: earned doctorate in the learning sciences, instructional design, math education or related area; at least two years of experience in curriculum design; expertise with leading a design collaborative composed of multiple stakeholders who work together to create student- and teacher-facing educational materials; expertise in high school math education, project-based learning, and mixed methods with a focus on design-based research; interest in advancing excellence and equity in education through improving classroom learning; excellent communication skills; and ability to work independently and contribute to an interdisciplinary team. PREFERRED: experience as an educator in formal or informal education with middle or high school youth, an approach to learning design that brings joy and fun into learning experiences, support for equity within education, and ability and interest in working on an ever-evolving project.
