Job Description

The Division of Intramural Research (DIR) at the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), NIH is seeking to recruit an outstanding Staff Scientist to join the Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology Program. The ideal candidate should have a strong track record of achievements in ovarian tissue and follicle research, including expertise in folliculogenesis, gene expression within the ovary, cell culture, tissue culture, ovarian histology, quantitative RT-PCR, and immunohistochemistry.

The Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology Program studies impaired gonadal function in children with many conditions including: those receiving gonadotoxic therapy due to cancer, hematologic and immune conditions, those with genetic conditions such as Turner syndrome, classic galactosemia, individuals with variations of sex development as well as transgender youth receiving puberty suppression and cross sex hormones. Through methods including single nuceli/cell RNA sequencing and single cell analytics we are attempting to elucidate of intra- and inter-cell signaling for mechanisms of follicle loss in the above stated populations. We are also investigating agents that can inhibit and activate primordial follicles.
