Essential Functions (Job Duties)
Teach physics and astronomy courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Establish and carry out a research program in the field of Astronomy/Astrophysics.
Obtain external research funding for your research program.
The standard teaching load is 2:2 for the academic year; however, the typical teaching load is reduced to 1:1 as long as you maintain an active research program and mentor students in research.
Publish research results in peer-reviewed journals and present results at conferences.
Serve on department, college, and university committees; and participate in department activities, such as outreach and recruiting activities, as well as student-centered events.
Supervision and mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students, as well as postdoctoral research associates (if applicable).
Mentoring graduate students to obtain PhD degrees in astronomy/astrophysics.

Qualifications
PhD degree in Physics or Astronomy with an emphasis on Astronomy/Astrophysics or a related field.
