    Position description

The Quantum Nanoelectronics Laboratory (QNL) in the Physics Department at the University of California, Berkeley, is seeking an Assistant, Associate or Full Project Scientist to conduct research related to the fabrication of superconducting quantum processors. We are looking for an ambitious individual to help develop a new approach to improving the fidelity and noise resilience of superconducting quantum qubits. QNL combines expertise in quantum computer design and operation with dedicated cleanroom and laboratory spaces to study and develop new quantum nanoelectronic
    technologies.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Collaborate with QNL staff on research in high-fidelity noise-resilient qubits.
    • Develop and implement nanofabrication processes for state-of-the-art superconducting quantum devices.
    • Characterize quantum device performance by validating, analyzing, and interpreting experimental data.
    • Investigate performance-limiting factors and support the optimization of quantum devices.
    • Support QNL’s qubit design efforts through expert-level knowledge of fabrication techniques.
