Position Summary

Under the general direction of the Associate Vice President of Workforce Development, the Director of Training Source will be responsible for the development of quality educational programming for Contract Education and the Government Training Academy, not-for credit, and other high priority Workforce Development programs.

The Director of Training Source is responsible for the marketing, implementation, and administration of the comprehensive programing for ARC’s Training Source which includes contract education to both the private, public businesses and as well as the educational sector partners. The Training Source also includes workplace coaching opportunities. Additional responsibilities include working with industry partners, representatives of community agencies, ARC administration, faculty, counselors, staff, research analysts, and instructional and student services areas to ensure the success of students participating in the program, and the College’s Workforce Development programs.

Assignment Responsibilities

Typical duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Planning, organizing, coordinating, and directing program activities related to the Training Source.
  • Developing and implementing revenue generating public, private and educational sector contract education programs.
  • Hiring, supervising, and evaluating faculty, developing instructor assignments and schedules to meet our industry partner’s needs, and is responsible for needs assessment for our industry partners.
  • Supporting the advancement of the college through the development and delivery of services reflective of the college’s academic mission, vision, and values.
  • Coordinating activities designed to promote the Training Source, its academic/student support and retention efforts, including tutoring and monitoring the progress of students.
  • Attending appropriate conferences, workshops, program trainings, and staff/committee meetings as directed.
  • Conducting orientation sessions.
  • Serving as a resource person to industry partners, staff, students, partner organizations, and the community.
  • Tracking student contacts to monitor services required and providing follow-up throughout program participation.
  • Providing data for institutional research.
  • Overseeing qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis and program evaluation.
  • Performing follow-up studies and evaluating program services.
  • Developing, authorizing, and monitoring expenditures and program budget in conjunction with and subject to review and approval by the Associate Vice President of Workforce Development.
  • Developing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with industry partners, instructional areas, and college staff.
  • Preparing reports and developing program goals.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

The assignment may include day, evening, weekend, and/or off-campus hours.

Alternate work schedules and remote/hybrid assignments may be available depending upon the operational needs of the department and employee performance.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Have a master’s degree from an accredited institution completed by January 1, 2023.

2. Have one year of formal training, internship, or leadership experience reasonably related to the administrator’s administrative assignment

3. Have an equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, including those with physical or learning disabilities as it relates to differences in learning styles; and successfully foster and support an inclusive educational and employment environment.
