Job Description
Summary
The McLoyd Lab in LSA Psychology is looking for a temp research coordinator for a project focusing on African American and Latino emerging adults’ (ages 18-25 years old) involvement in critical actions (e.g., protests, campaigns) aimed at reducing racial/ethnic disparities, and psychological and socialization factors that predict critical activism. The study design calls for surveying both emerging adults attending college and those not enrolled in an institution of higher education.
This part-time (15-20 hrs/wk) position will begin as soon as possible and is expected to last through June 30, 2023. The hourly rate will be between $20-$25/hr, based on experience, expertise, and equity.

Desired Qualifications*
(a) Graduate Work in Psychology, Sociology, Education, Public Health or related social science, including graduate coursework in statistics and research methodology
(b) Ability to assist in preparation of an application to U-M’s Institutional Review Board for approval of the study
(c) Familiarity with online crowdsourcing data collection platforms (e.g., Amazon’s Mechanical Turk)
(d) Experience in data management (e.g., preparation of codebook, cleaning data, scale construction, data reduction techniques) and conducting data imputation and statistical analyses using higher-level multivariate analytic methods such as structural equation modeling and hierarchical linear modeling
(e) Skills in use of Qualtrics
(f) Skills in use of SPSS, STATA, SAS or equivalent statistical software
