The Institute for Educational Initiatives strives to improve the quality of education of all youth, particularly those who come from communities that have been historically marginalized, paying special – though not exclusive – attention to Catholic schools. Its teaching, scholarship, and service reflect Notre Dame’s commitment to advance K-12 schooling.
The IEI is home to many education-focused units and centers, including our signature program, the Alliance for Catholic Education (ACE). The administrative assistant will report to the IEI Director of Operations and will be the first point of contact for most guests entering Carole Sandner Hall. The Admin Assistant will greet guests in a welcoming and hospitable manner, answer questions, and provide directions. Additionally, the Administrative Assistant will support the work of the faculty and staff whose offices are located on the 1st floor of Carole Sandner Hall, with special attention to the work of the American Indian Catholic Schools Network (AICSN) and Education, Schooling, and Society programs. In addition the Admin will provide support to the Institute’s Business Manager.
Essential Duties Include:
1. Support basic administrative needs of the faculty and staff with offices on the first floor of Carole Sandner Hall with a special emphasis on the needs of the Education, Schooling, and Society (ESS) program and the American Indian Catholic Schools Network (AICSN). Tasks will include, but are not limited to submitting expense reports, reconciling AICSN meeting card, and coordinating participant reimbursements; copying documents; distributing office supplies; travel arrangements including booking fights and hotel rooms for staff and participants; ordering catering and providing minimal on-campus event support; maintaining snack and beverage inventories; tracking Professional Growth Points (PGP) and/or Continuing Education Units (CEU); and ordering and distributing educational and operational supplies; and other event materials.
2. Greet guests in a hospitable and welcoming manner, answering questions in a clear and concise manner, providing directions as required, and making inquiries in order to answer questions when necessary.
3. Assisting the Institute’s business office by approving expense reports; making weekly deposits; helping to onboard new employees to TravelND and other IEI-specific procedures; attends to monthly MarketPlace needs
4. Other duties as assigned.

Highly organized with good attention to detail; excellent communicator who enjoys interacting with others and serving guests, faculty, and staff in a hospitable and welcoming manner; is comfortable with technology and learning new programs and platforms; has a working knowledge of Google Workplace platforms (docs, sheets, calendar, gmail, etc)
