We are looking for an outstanding candidate to join the Mechanical Engineering Team in the Department for Engineering and advance the undergraduate and postgraduate Mechanical Engineering courses through teaching, research and enterprise.

The primary responsibility of the role is to deliver an excellent student experience in particular on BEng, MEng and MSc Mechanical Engineering.

All academics within the Department are expected to contribute to enterprise and/or research activities.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide an excellent student experience.
  • Acting in accord with the University’s strategy, policy and procedures.
  • Participate in research activity in the subject area
  • Undertake personal tutoring
  • Embody the University’s strategy and values, demonstrating behaviours that align to those values.

Skills and Experience

You will bring a proven research or industrial portfolio of experience in the field of mechanical engineering covering such areas as:

  • Design, Advanced manufacturing and 3D printing
  • Proven post-graduate level mathematical and analysis skills and associated computational simulation, use of Matlab, Ansys, Adams or similar software.
