Job Summary: The instructor will be responsible for both classroom and clinical instruction in the Associate Degree Nursing program. The candidate will also be responsible for student advising, recruiting, and tracking student attendance and progress. Some travel required between Vernon and Wichita Falls.
Contract/Salary: 9 month contract; salary range $36,941 - $43,492 annually. Position is available August 1, 2019. This position is subject to criminal background check.
Required Education: Unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse in Texas. Master’s degree in nursing or Bachelor’s degree in nursing with a minimum of one-half (1/2) of the hours required for completion of a graduate level nursing degree.
Required Experience: Minimum of three years’ experience in a clinical setting. Ability to communicate effectively. Current CPR certification. Flexibility with hours. Computer skills including use of Microsoft Office applications. Ability to promote an effective learning environment for students from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
Preferred Experience: Master’s degree in nursing with educator focus and two years teaching experience. Three years medical/surgical nursing experience preferred.
Applicants selected for an interview will be required to give a 5-10 minute teaching demonstration during the interview.
